Berlin has even two zoos! The Zoological Garden is Germany's oldest zoo and awaits your visit with its 15,000 animals. Nocturnal animal house, aquarium – an impressive array of animals! The most famous inhabitant is the polar bear Knut.
The Tierpark Friedrichsfelde is laid out like a large landscaped garden embedded in the former Castle Park. You will find the zoo school nearby the palace. Animals and plants from all over the world can be visited. Guided tours on different themes, some of them late in the evening.
The whole wide world of plants presents itself in the Botanical Gardens, one of the world's biggest collections, where plants flourish on 43 hectares and in 15 impressive glasshouses.
